The Western Michigan Christian girls basketball team stayed perfect on the season with a 62-16 rout of Orchard View on Friday in Lakes Eight Conference action.

The Warriors led 19-4 at the first stop, 33-9 at intermission and 54-13 going into the final period.

Taylor Folkema had 21 points, seven steals and four rebounds to lead the Warriors (6-0, 3-0 Lakes Eight), while Meghan Heiss had 12 points, five steals and five assists and Esther Hartley had nine points.

"It was a good game to come back from the holidays and get ready for the coming week," said WMC head coach Jeremy Goorman. "Calvary and Ludington will be difficult opponents. It will be great to see how we will compete against top talent.

"Allysa Eekhoff had a great first quarter with four rebounds and four points. Kayla Johnson is filling some big shoes in the starting lineup for Jenna Houskamp. Jenna suffered a concussion before the break and will be out indefinitely.
