Warriors Tie, Win at Witte Memorial Tournament
The Warriors traveled to Holland Christian for the Kevin Witte Memorial Tournament Saturday where they tied Holland Christian, 0-0, and defeated Kalamazoo Christian, 1-0.
In the opening minute of play against Holland Christian, the Warriors hit two balls off the goal post, but didn't come any closer after that. "Both teams had some great chances, but the defense and keepers held strong," WMC coach David Hulings said.
In the second game, WMC beat Kalamazoo Christian 1-0 on a first half goal by Issac VanHoven off an assist from Andrew Rasmussen. Kalamazoo Christian had a chance to tie the game with a last-minute, point- blank shot saved by WMC keeper Jameson Goorman. Goorman had seven saves on the day across the two, time-shorten, tournament games.
