WMC played their second game of the season against cross town neighbors, Spring Lake. This is the first time in awhile that these two teams faced off.

The Lakers came in ready to play their first game of the 2022 season. Their instant pressure and attacking presence overwhelmed WMC early, causing two first-half goals. WMC was able to settle into the pressure and began to find their own attacking opportunities with great work from the Betten sisters (Kaiya, So. & Sydney, Sr.) in the midfield finding Brooklyn Watts (So.) and Ally Oppenhuizen (Jr.). WMC had great defensive efforts from Bri Zuidema (Jr.), Nadia Burr (So.), and Maria Eenigenburg (Fr.).

Libby Mast (Sr.) posted well for the Warriors in goal making many phenomenal saves.

Coach Debbie Pekel is looking on to the next match against Reeths Puffer on Wednesday; another competitive opponent for the Warriors to face off early in their season. "Our girls have something to prove this year and playing this level of competition early on gets us ready for our Conference and District Run; we are ready for the challenge!"

The Warriors play the Rockets of Reeths Puffer at home at 6:00pm.
