Warriors Open League Play with Big Win
WMC defeated Manistee 25-8, 25-13, 25-18
The Warriors had a great opening night for Lakes 8 conference play, hosting Manistee.
"We tried our newest lineup in the first set and capitalized on some big service runs," WMC coach Trent Smillie said. "We changed things up in the 2nd and 3rd sets with some other lineups and were able to stop most service streaks and make our own.
"Anna Sytsema was on fire, attacking the ball as well as Claudia Kingma.
"Our defense was very strong and we did not allow many kills from Manistee. We need to work on communication with our serve receive, but everything else we did was very good."
