Hesperia: 20-25 16-25 (WMC L)
The Hesperia match was the first competitive match we have played this season. Hesperia didn’t bring power but they placed the ball well and capitalized on our errors. Gracie Wiersema led the team with 3 aces. Abby Leffring led the team in kills and blocks with 5 and 3. Kendal Young had 15 assists.
Ravenna: 25-19 25-8 (WMC W)
After a tough loss to Hesperia, we were ready for a change. Emily Fett, assisted by Abby Leffring, had a huge block in the first set that turned things around for the rest of the match. We had the most kills as a team in this match, led by Ashley Folkema with 9 and Abby Leffring with 8. Kendal Young had 20 assists
Shelby: 20-25 16-25 (WMC L)
Shelby has a power house outside hitter that we were able to slow down, but not stop. Abby Leffring lead the offense with 8 kills. Julissa TerHaar led the defense with 7 digs. Kendal Young had 19 assists.
