Baseball split a double header against conference opponent Orchard View on Friday night.  In the first game, the Warriors got off to a slow start.  Orchard View capitalized on some Warrior mistakes to win game 7-2.  The second game was a different story.  WMC slugged their way to a 16-6 victory in five innings.

"First game we walked too many leadoff batters and they ended up scoring every time.  We did a better job in the 2nd game of getting ahead in the count and getting more ground ball outs.  Our team is built on defense, so when our pitchers are keeping the ball low, it gives our defense a chance.  Offensively it was great to see Jake Moser, Michael Kamps and Andrew Hill have great games at the plate.  Goorman has really been hitting the ball hard all week, so to have 5 hits on the day was a good sign for us as well.  We are looking forward to opening league play at home on Tuesday against Ludington."  Coach Chris VanHekken
