WMC loses to Covenant Christian in the 7th inning, 7-6.

The Warriors traveled to Covenant for a single game against the Chargers.  Covenant scored a run in the bottom of the first inning but WMC came charging back in the top of the second inning scoring three runs.  It remained 3-1 until the fifth inning when WMC added a run but, the Chargers would answer that with a run of their own in the bottom half to make it a 4-2 ballgame.  The Chargers took the lead with a three run sixth inning to make the score 4-5.  The Warriors scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning but they couldn't hold the lead.  The Chargers scored two runs to finish the scoring in the bottom of the seventh.

Caleb McKay (Fr.) led the Warriors with two hits (a single and a double), an RBI, and scored a run.  Sam Ligget (Sr.) had a triple and an RBI.  Ethan Hill (Sr.) had a single with an RBI and scored a run.  Sam Sipe (Jr.) took a no decision pitching 5 innings allowing 6 hits, 2 runs-1 earned, 1 walk, and 6 strikeouts.

Coach Hill- "This is a disappointing loss because we had three errors in the field that Covenant took advantage of to score runs.  We keep telling the guys that we have to continue to do the little things well or it comes back to haunt us and today was a perfect example of that.  We'll put this one behind us to get ready for Senior Night on Thursday."
