WMC Warriors Win Last Ever Lakes 8 Conference Baseball Championship!

The Warriors faced off with the Orioles of Ludington for a make-up game for one that was rained out earlier in the season.  Both Ludington and the Warriors came into the game 10-1 in conference play, both suffering a loss to each other.  The Orioles struck first in the top of the first inning scoring two runs and again in the top of the third scoring another.  The Warriors tied it up in the bottom of the third scoring three themselves.  Both teams each exchanged runs in the fifth and sixth inning.  The Warriors scored the final run in the bottom half of the seventh inning.  The final score: 6-5.

The Warriors tallied 11 hits as a team lead by Jono clausing (Jr.), Sam Liggett (Sr.), and Samuel VanOrman (Sr.) with two hits a piece. Jamie Cho (Sr.) stoked a 2-out triple.  Sam Sipe pitched a complete game allowing 8 hits, 5 runs, 4 earned, 2 walks, and 8 strikeouts to earn the win.

Coach Hill- "What a great high school baseball game.  The Orioles are a well coached, tough team.  It's been a long time since Warrior baseball notched a conference title- early to mid-nineties I believe.  These boys play hard and never get down and I feel we are peaking at the right time.  A big shout out to all the fans for supporting us tonight."
