Boys Compete at State Finals
Guys ended their season Saturday at the individual state finals at Hudsonville. WMC had nine guys compete in seven different events
"And while we didn't have anyone place in the top eight, we had a few people right on the bubble and turned in some solid performances," WMC coach Josh Scholma said.
The 400m relay team (Solomon Waller, Tyler Somers, Johnscott Finley, Dirk Teeter) had their best time of the season (46.11) and finished in 17th place.
The 1600m Relay team (Tyler Somers, Solomon Waller, Seth VanderKooi, Johnscott Finley) also set their personal record (3:38.43) and finished in 14th place.
The 3200m Relay team (Andrew Plaisier, Eli Rotman, Seth VanderKooi, Jack Zuidema) finished in 11th place with their second best time of the season (8:38).
Johnscott Finley ran his second best time 400m of the season (52.39) and finished in 13th place.
Tyler Somers ran the 110m hurldes (16.54) and 300m Hurdles (42.53) and finished in 12th and 14th place respectively.
Brandon Sytsma, who was still recovering from an injury, was WMC's lone field event qualifier, competing in the long jump.
"Congrats to all of the state qualifers and the guys team for an awesome season," coach Scholma said.
